I was well into being 'middle aged'  when I decided it might be fun to try out drumming! From regular lessons to first steps with playing in bands it's become a passion and on ongoing journey.

Before drums I studied guitar and bass guitar while working many years in the NHS. Building a ​part time teaching business grew in stages starting while I was at art college and then in between bringing up my family, with the most recent ten years established here in Cheltenham. 

 

I ran adult band workshops for six years and play drums and perform with various bands including Six Hands Later, Metz and Glevum Big Band.

​

Now with forty years experience and thousands of lessons delivered, I still have the same passion to share the fun and rewards of learning to play an instrument - whether you're coming back to music after many years, or considering it for the very first time.

 

Research continues to highlight the many benefits of drumming - for brain health, for co-ordination, for fun, for 'flow'.

 

Maybe you want to play the music you love with other people or join a band? No-one is too old to start and yes, you can get good enough to play with a band if you wanted to!
